Private Sector Accommodation for StudentsWe have a wide range of properties to suit our student tenants — from cosy 1-bedroom self-contained flats to spacious 7- and 8-bed houses. Most of these properties are located in Egham and Englefield Green. To assist your search we’ve split this accommodation into 5 areas, as described below. Many houses to rent in Area 1 (TW20 9BN) are of good quality and of late Victorian build. This area is behind Egham High Street and is convenient for both shops and the station. The distance to campus is a fair walk (about 20 minutes) but some students prefer to cycle, cutting the journey time considerably. Area 2 (TW20 9PQ) is the most popular with students due to its close proximity to the back gate of the university. Like Area 1, it’s also convenient for Egham Station. There is a good mix of Victorian and modern residences, but the most sought-after properties are those in Nightingale Shott. Area 3 (TW20 9JB) is situated on a fairly modern estate called Manorcrofts, which is very close to Egham Station and about 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the back gate of RHUL. A discounted bus service runs every 15 minutes during term time between the station and campus. Area 4 (TW20 0QY) is in Englefield Green, which consists mainly of Victorian housing. Properties here are closest to the A30 and the main entrance of the university and, as such, get snapped up very quickly. Local shops and restaurants are close by in the village high street. Much of the student accommodation in Englefield Green is in Area 5 (TW20 0SY) — 'the Forest Estate' — which is made up of mainly 1950s housing. Most student properties on the estate are within a 10-15 minute walk to the main campus via a number of short cuts. Average rental prices in this area tend to be lower than those in Areas 1 to 4. Security and Peace of MindWherever possible we arrange to transport groups to and from the properties they wish to view. For security purposes, groups on viewings will always be accompanied by one of our agents, and we advise student tenants never to admit unaccompanied groups without our knowledge. |
